What was the highlight of APA Hotel Ueno Inaricho Ekikita
Part of an extensive chain, APA hotels are all over Japan and you know what you get.
Right east of Ueno station, with very good connection to public transport and serveral Train and subway lines, also transfer to Keisei station to Narita Airport. Within walking disatnce to shops and restaurants. Rooms are small but effectively furnished, erverything you need for an economic stay in Tokyo.

What was the highlight of APA Hotel Ueno Inaricho Ekikita
Small but comfortable, has everything we needed, but we sweat in the warm room
The room is really clean, and i liked the softness level of the bed, there is a slight curve downward at your bottom. Clever design the a small room where you can tuck luggage underneath the bed. There is a 24 hour supermarket very close by, also a 711, and a good breakfast place 'Cafe Veloce' nearby if you are craving for having bread and coffee. There is a sense of slower pace, less stressful vibe around this hotel, compared to if I were to stay nearer to Ueno station. There is a microwave in the lobby area, and also an ice machine that can dispense water too. The room's window face Tokyo skytree, so we get to see its illumination at night, and very beautiful sunrise in the morning.
So I filled the bathtub with hot water to soak after a long walk, when I release the water, half of it came back out from the pipe below, and flooded the carpet outside of the bathroom. However, the staff are very polite and apologetic for this experience we had, and transfer us to another room, this other room actually looked like a room that is closed off from reservation, as it needs some repair and maintenance down, but we had no choice that night as the staff told us they are fully booked. If you are trying to come to this hotel from Ueno station, do look at the route carefully, we walked 850m or more with luggage when we first came here, do try Inaricho station instead, which is much closer (around 200m) to the hotel. Air conditioning is centrally controlled, on our first night, it was on "heating" mode, outside was not really cold actually, so our room was really warm, told front desk and they keep saying its centrally controlled, its on heating mode now, cannot change it and etc, so we had to sweat while sleeping, blanket was put aside, after giving feedback to the front desk again on the next morning, they turn it to 'cooling' on 2nd night, where we could have pleasant sleep.
